Blended Learning
Purposeful Instruction Design
That drives personal learning
Blended learning is a purposeful instructional design that drives personalized learning. Blended learning experiences enhance the learning of content through collaboration among scholars and teachers with a balance of face-to-face and interactive digital opportunities.
Kestrel Heights is a blended learning school that utilizes Station Rotation. The Station Rotation model allows students to rotate through varied learning activities and tasks on a fixed schedule, where at least one of the stations is an online learning station. This model is most common in elementary and middle schools because teachers are already familiar with rotating in “centers” or stations. In addition, Station Rotations allow teachers to create smaller learning communities within the larger classroom through small-group instruction. Blended learning and Station Rotation are supported by our commitment to providing every scholar with their own device during the school day.
At Kestrel Heights, we believe that blended learning will create an environment where scholars and teachers learn and teach more effectively. In addition, blended learning can provide scholars with a choice and voice in their education and is dynamically customized for each scholar’s needs.
