Dear Kestrel Families/Guardians,
This year, Kestrel elected to accept the Title I Grant. Title I, Part A, the cornerstone of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, is the largest federal education program. Its intent is to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high-quality education and reach proficiency on challenging State academic content and performance standards. Each year families in a Title I School receive information such as the Parent and Family Engagement Policy, the School-Home Compact, and information regarding the school’s performance on the most recent State assessments.
In the coming years, this information will be included in our “back to school packet”, at this time due to being virtual, we are asking that you take a few moments to review the documents and complete the acknowledgment. It is very important that we receive feedback from each family.
You may access the acknowledgment and demographic survey at the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/
Attached to the email that went out before break you will also find a parent letter regarding targeted support. Mrs. Callahan has also created a short, 3-minute video explaining how to complete the acknowledgment and demographic survey.
You can access that video here: https://drive.google.com/file/
We are asking each family to complete this acknowledgment and demographic survey by January 15. If you have any difficulty completing the survey, please contact Mrs. Callahan at callahan@kestrelheights.org; if you have any questions about Title I or our federal programs, please contact Mrs. Jackson at jackson@kestrelheights.org.
